Meet Your Artist: Donna Mazzone
My art work is primarily influenced by nature and the beauty of the RI landscape. Being a plein air watercolor painter enables me to capture the moment of a place and time while being outdoors enjoying that time. Recently I have begun a series of painted wooden serving trays. These also reflect my interest in nature. This is an idea I have considered for some time while trying to combine my work into a functional product. My career as an art teacher spanned 30 years in the public schools. After retirement I continued teaching privately to adults and children.
Currently I work as a farm teacher at Casey Farm in Saunderstown, RI which is a beautiful property managed by Historic New England.
