Meet Your Artist: Roberta Spink Belanger
Roberta began designing counted cross stitch patterns when her sister, Linda, who was managing a yarn shop, mentioned that customers were looking for local and nautical designs. Roberta had always been involved with all kinds of needlework and said “I can do that”! Over more than 20 years she designed several hundred patterns and sold many of these designs to
needlework magazines. She specialized in designing all 50 state maps and almost 50 lighthouse from all over the country. “I think my first design was of Wickford followed by Jamestown, Point Judith, etc. Next came the states and lighthouses. Throw in holiday designs, landscapes and everything else! Most designs were taken from her and her husband, Bob's, photography. Roberta is also a singer, voice teacher and has directed the North Kingstown Community Chorus for 30 years. She is a life long resident of Wickford.
